Partnering with UK Companies for Better Oil & Gas Training

22.02.2017

15 February 2017, Department for International Trade Russia based in the British Embassy in Moscow held a Seminar on Vocational and Professional Education in Oil & Gas Sector.

The event brought together UK experts and representatives of Russian Oil & Gas companies interested in what Britain has to offer for Russian petroleum industry.

OGE Academy spoke on behalf of the British side. Oleg Nesterenko, OGE’s Vice-Principal for International Relations, highlighted a number of training solutions offered  in collaboration with the British partners.

The emphasis was made on OGE’s long-term partnership with Robert Gordon University (Aberdeen, Scotland). Our joint projects include MSc Offshore Oil and Gas Engineering, as well as MBA Oil and Gas Management. This AMBA accredited course developed by Aberdeen Business School is ranked among the best MBAs for petroleum professionals.

Another partnership that OGE Academy takes pride in is with Xodus Group. At OGE, Xodus engineers teach Flow Assurance, Subsea Systems and Concept Definition for Offshore Developments. To professionals involved in design of offshore structures, OGE offers placement at Xodus facilities which is an excellent opportunity to obtain relevant experience working as part of Xodus engineering team during concept development, FEED stages, etc.

We have also successfully collaborated with Petroleum Experts, another British company, whose specialist is slated to do a short course in August on integrated production modelling.

Nowadays, the market of training services for oil and gas is especially demanding when it comes to the level of competence of training providers. At OGE Academy, we make sure to offer high quality solutions through close collaboration with the leading centers of expertise from Great Britain. Not only does this kind of partnership make sense in today’s reality, it is also highly symbolic given that 2017 was declared UK-Russia Year of Science and Education.
